Co-Head Coach Chad Olson

Coach Chad Olson is entering his 7th year as a member of the Farmington Wrestling Coaching Staff. Olson is a 1995 graduate of Farmington High School and attended Augsburg College in Minneapolis. While at Augsburg, Olson was a member of both the Football and Wrestling Teams, as well as a member of the 1997 Wrestling  Academic All-American team. He graduated from Augsburg in 2000 with a Physical Education and Health Degree and has taught in Monticello, Richfield and Farmington. Coach Olson is currently a Physical Education Teacher at Dodge Middle School. He has been married to Mrs.Rachel Olson, a teacher at Riverview Elementary, since 2001 and they have three boys, Dylan, Myles, and Zachary. He enjoys fishing, golfing, spending time with family and tending to his chickens. Coach Olson was an Assistant Coach at Monticello High School for 1 year, Head Coach at Richfield/Edina for 10 years, Assistant Coach for 1 year at Dakota County Technical College, Assistant Coach for the MN/USA Freestyle Cadet team for 4 years, and is starting his 6th year as Head Coach in Farmington. In 2015, along with Co-Head Coach Gerten, Coach Olson was named the AAA State Coach of the Year.


Co-Head Coach Henry Gerten

Coach Gerten was born and raised in the Rosemount area and and graduated from Rosemount High School in 1993. He attended the University of Wisconsin Madison for two and a half years and later graduated from Augsburg College with a degree in Elementary Education. Coach Gerten has been working as a teacher at Rosemount Middle School since 1999 and obtained a Master’s degree from the University of St. Mary’s. Henry married Theresa Gerten in 2000; they  have two boys Samuel and Lucas. Coach Gerten’s interests include eating, golfing, watching football, and spending time with family. Coach Gerten got started in wrestling in the eighth grade and eventually won a State Championship for Rosemount High School in 1993. In college, he wrestled for the Badgers until he transferred to Augsburg College in 1996. At Augsburg, he won two National Championships as an individual, was a two-time captain of the Auggies, as well as a two-time academic All-American. While Henry was captain, the Auggies won the National Championship twice and he has since been inducted into the Division III Wrestling Hall of Fame. Coach Gerten coached the MN/USA Cadet Team for 8 years, Assistant Coach at Rosemount for 16 years, and briefly was the Head Coach at Dakota County Technical College. In 2015, along with Co-Head Coach Olson, Coach Gerten was named the AAA State Coach of the Year.


Assistant Coach Jon Heeren

Coach Heeren is in his 2nd year with the Farmington program. Coach Heeren was born and raised in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and has been around wrestling all of his life. Heeren graduated from Cedar Rapids Kennedy High School in 1998 and then went on to wrestle for Luther College in Decorah, IA. Heeren was a part of 3 teams at Luther College that placed nationally. Coach Heeren graduated in 2002 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics. He has also earned a Master’s Degree from St. Mary’s University of Minnesota during that time. Coach Heeren was married to his wife Kristin in 2007 and together they have 2 children, Josh and Anna. Coach Heeren’s interests include spending time with family, golfing, watching football, and reading. Coach Heeren has been an Assistant Coach at Kennedy High School at Bloomington, Assistant Coach at Burnsville, and Head Coach at Woodbury.

Assistant Coach Doug Quick

Coach Quick is the ranking patriarch of the coaching staff and has been a part of the Farmington Wrestling program for more than a decade. Coach Quick is a retired Marine, not a former one, who has dedicated his life to the service of others through teaching and coaching. Coach Quick has coached football, track, and wrestling in several locations across Minnesota and Wisconsin. He has been coaching wrestling for 50 years now!  Coach Quick and his wife Karen have been together since 1965. They have two grown sons and several grandchildren. After a 30+ year teaching career, Coach Quick is now retired from teaching as substitute teaches around the area.

Assistant Coach Aron Kukowski

Coach Aron Kukowski graduated from Greenbush-Middle River High School in 1994 and then from the University of Minnesota in 2001. He also earned a Masters degree from St. Mary’s University and  has been teaching Technology Education since 1998. This is Coach Kukowski’s fourth season with the high school program; he coached previously at St. Thomas Academy and Greenbush-Middle River High School. Aron and his wife Amanda, who serves on the Farmington Wrestling Board, have two sons Mac and Nelson. He has been involved in coaching a wide variety of youth sports in the Farmington community for years and is also a member of the FHS Football coaching staff. Coach Kukowski enjoys spending time cooking with his wife, golfing, and cheering on the Minnesota Gophers or whoever is playing against Wisconsin, Iowa or anyone in the SEC.

Assistant Coach Jon Lund

Coach Lund was born and raised in Stewartville, MN and attended St. Olaf College. He teaches science at Farmington High School.  He is married to Mrs. Brenda Lund, also a teacher at Farmington High School. They have 3 children, Abby, Tommy, and Jake. Coach Lund has been with the Farmington Wrestling program for over 15 years and was at one time Head Coach of the program.

Assistant Coach Mike Kirsch

Coach Kirsch is from Carroll, IA. That is all that is known about Coach Kirsch. He works at Pahl’s market in Apple Valley.
